The Hanky Panky

The Hanky-Panky was first served in the American Bar in London’s Savoy Hotel. It’s what I would call a “robust” cocktail, so beware.

Serves two:

  • 3 oz Bulldog gin

  • 3 oz Cinzano Rosso

  • A few dashes of Fernet Branca (a style of amaro or bitters)

  • Orange peel for garnish.

Add ice to a cocktail shaker, followed by the gin, vermouth, and the bitters. Shake a couple of times and then strain into a chilled martini or coupe glass. Garnish with the orange peel. Place a bottle of aspirin and a large glass of water near your bedside for the inevitable hangover you will have the next morning.
